All About Snell Isle St. Petersburg Florida

November 11, 2021 By Deborah Ward

St. Petersburg Snell Isle, Florida is a great place to live. It has great neighborhoods and one of the older neighborhoods is . Snell Isle has always been a higher end neighborhood, and today is no different.

Developed in the 1920’s

Snell Isle was established in the 1920’s when a local developer, C. Perry Snell, developed a portion of what Snell Isle is today. C. Perry Snell was a All About Snell Isle St. Petersburg Floridadruggist from Kentucky. He moved to the St. Petersburg area in 1900 and began purchasing properties in the area to develop. Those properties were then developed into upscale neighborhoods, commercial areas and also public parks. Snell Isle was one of those neighborhoods and it was named for him.

Muddy mangrove

Snell Isle was originally a typical muddy mangrove island. By the time the neighborhood officially opened in 1925 there was only 39 acres above the high tide line. Of those 39 acres Snell still managed to sell over seven million dollars worth of lots. Today there is 275 acres above the high tide line and homes still sell in the millions.

The Renaissance Vinoy Golf Club and Resort

In 1926 The Renaissance Vinoy Golf Club and Resort opened on the island. It is still there and is currently on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s also the home to the St. Petersburg Woman’s Club, which Snell built on Coffee Pot Bayou. There is a memorial on the island to Snell, its founder.

So come check out the Isle when in St. Petersburg.

Clearwater Relocation | What Types Of Properties Are In Clearwater?

October 27, 2021 By Deborah Ward

If you are looking to relocate to Clearwater, you’re probably thinking about what kind of properties are available that fit your life. Are you downsizing? Upsizing? Looking for a change or some of the same in a different location?

Clearwater Relocation | What Types Of Properties Are In Clearwater?Condominiums are one type of home you may consider. If you own a condo you own your own unit, but the common areas belong to the condo association. You will be responsible to pay fees to the association to help with upkeep, and if any improvements need to be made to the common areas, all owners are responsible to help pay for it. While a condo can be as small as a few units, most people think of larger apartment like buildings with amenities like pools, gyms, tennis courts and more.

Multi-Unit Properties are another type of property. This could be something like a 2 unit or multiple unit property where the owner lives in one unit and rents out the others. It is a great way to live in a property or an area that may be higher than you could afford on your own, because you pay your mortgage with the rental payments. It’s also a great way to have a vacation home for yourself, but pay for it with the rental from the other units.

Townhouses are another common form of home to start out in or downsize to. A townhome is different from a condo because the townhome owner owns the home and the property in front of and behind it. Townhomes are usually a few units and may have common areas supported by a homeowners association.

Single-Family Residences may be what you are moving from. And it may be what you are looking to move to. They come in all sizes, so whether up or downsizing, a single family home could fit the bill. Single family homes are stand-alone single dwellings where the owner owns the building and all the surrounding land. Clearwater has some beautiful waterfront single family homes.

Clearwater has all these kinds of homes, so if you are thinking of relocating, call a Realtor to discuss what you may want in a home. Come down and visit to tour all or some of these types of homes. Who knows, you may find you want something you never thought you would!
